A brother and sister whose parents died while the younger sibling was in college and consequently retained possession of the family home with his young bride (incidentally with all expenses paid until after his graduation) amicably agreed that the older sister could take an old beat-up wing-backed chair that held sentimental value for her once she and her husband moved into their new residence.
Phone rings
Seth: “Hi. Come get the chair tomorrow, Sunday morning, while we are at church. I’ll leave the door unlocked.”
Kate: “I don’t want to come while you’re not at home. Let’s find another time.”
Seth: “No, it is better this way, come tomorrow.”
Kate: “This is weird. Let me speak to Suzy.”
Seth: “No, no, don’t make trouble! Just come and take the chair between 10 and 11. We want it gone.”
Kate thinks, “There must be trouble in paradise” and reluctantly agrees.
Next thing Kate knows, her uncle (and trustee) and an old neighbor who was a good friend were so mad at Kate that they were barely speaking to her. They just said, “We know what you did,” and shut off any conversation.
Kate belatedly realized her brother set her up but decided it was better to ignore the incident than make it into a huge “he-said/she-said” feud. Frankly, there was no good choice at that point, but the already challenged relationship with her sister-in-law (who was planning on throwing the chair in the dumpster if Kate didn’t take it) went further down-hill, but wasn’t that her brother’s point- souring good relationships and driving deeper wedges into tenuous relationships? Kate never was able to re-establish her previously close relationship with her uncle who died just a few years later.
Eventually, Kate and her brother became estranged, but not until after he did further significant harm to her- ironically with his duplicitous thievery.
Narcissists never change. Radical acceptance of that fact and journal-keeping are the only ways to keep your sanity when you are forced to engage with these destructive and dishonest personalities.
Welcome to the World of Narcissistic Manipulation
As bad as the lying and gaslighting are, they aren’t the only tools of deception a narcissist (or any Cluster B Personality) will use to gather support for their agendas and effect sabotage. Narcissists will provoke emotional reactions and totally manufacture events as necessary to achieve their ends that involves whomever is useful to those ends.
The above real-world incident is essentially the same thing as what happened concerning Ivermectin and other valid treatments for Covid-19.
Government emails reveal that players who knew ivermectin was safe and was saving lives celebrated the “horse-paste” story that they manufactured. The deception was fed to media and went viral with tweets intended to drive wedges between the good guys and those who were committed to the “lockdown and wait for the vaccine” group who profited mightily from this deception. It didn’t matter that people died or that ivermectin was a fast remedy that only cost pennies a day - not even in April 2020. Profit and prestige were tied up with the highly controlling vaccine narrative.
The general public might not have known that ivermectin which had been proven as a safe & effective treatment for other illnesses was proving safe & effective for early Covid and so were easily duped, but plenty in government and healthcare knew and the media should have known. Media should have done its due diligence. Lives lost and families ruined didn’t count.
Gosh, Francis Collins and his wife even made a silly little video to promote the lock-down/vaccine narrative in those early weeks - because it suited the NIH profit margin / policy position. They looked like they were having a grand old time in their staycation. Sadly, many of us didn’t have the resources or that luxury.
Don’t think this was a one-off thing. Just like Seth continued to abuse his sister with his manipulative behavior, the public health, political and Pharma players continue to manufacture stories that sell whatever it is they want to sell and damn the rest of us. 1

Ironically, since doctors and pharmacists are still reluctant to prescribe ivermectin for early Covid, some of us have resorted to keeping a tube of the actual “horse-paste” in our medicine chests.

The recent PBS News Hour interview of an author of the Washington Post article ("Doctors who put lives at risk with covid misinformation rarely punished" by Lena H. Sun, Lauren Weber and Hayden Godfrey) is a case in point - an example of a manufactured event.
The authors cleverly focused on whether the doctors targeted by state medical boards for "misinformation" were punished rather than whether the information was in fact misinformation - primarily about treating with ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine which the authors repeatedly say conclusively are proved to be ineffective (untrue). The assumptions were those patients were more likely to die (untrue) because the doctors actually treated people with these licensed, safe & effective drugs at a time when the CDC advice was that there was no treatment, and again later in lieu of the more costly designer drugs which had high incidence of adverse reactions. In fact, there were very good results for early treatment with these drugs using various protocols that are still not considered by NIH/FDA or CDC.
The goal of the WaPo and PBS is to cause an emotional reaction among the general population against doctors who don't toe the line - to the point of robbing them of their livelihood. Again, truth, rights and even lives don't matter. Serving the narcissistic agenda and reinforcing the false world view is the "win."
This is a set-up just like the set-up with the chair.
