Maggie, I believe that only a vote for Trump can possibly save this nation from the total collapse that will be brought on through the neo-communist and globalist regime that has taken hold of America. Get Trump elected and then be concerned how RFK can help him and others to effectively de-weaponize the regulatory institutions that Obama and DNC have taken over with their divisive and anti-American rhetoric and devices.
You may be right..... I don't have a crystal ball.
However, I am personally loathe to compromise my values with a vote for Trump. Since I live in a very blue state, I have the luxury of voting my conscience for Bobby. I don't know what I'd ultimately do if I lived in a battleground state.
Have you seen the video put out by RFKJr's running mate's crew in support of the Trump-Kennedy coalition? See https://twitter.com/i/status/1829291690277966165 (if Substack will let you) or https://youtu.be/kBKj6PxScoM for copies of the thing. My suspicion is that Kennedy and Trump just pretended to bad-mouth each other in the weeks leading up to the official formation of their coalition in order to throw off the Democrat campaign, thereby surprising the hell out of the Harris-Walz campaign.
I disagree. I'm not that much of a conspiracy person, not that I'm necessarily always right. But I do try to look at hard data.
It really looked good for a Kennedy win when Biden was the presumptive nominee. After Biden's crash & burn on live TV, I held my breath he'd stay on the ticket which would have made Biden the spoiler, giving the election to Kennedy. The whole wave of "joy" for Kamala was based on her not being Biden - and that changed everything.... that and the continued censorship and ridiculous challenges to Kennedy being on the ballot.
It's not a 'conspiracy thing' to do something like I suspect has been planned and carried out between Kennedy and Trump -- it could instead be regarded as deadly serious adult cooperation against an extremely harmful common enemy. The basic tactic is called a "head fake" in basketball, for example (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Head_fake).
In any case, what did you think of Shannahan's (Kennedy's running mate) pro-Trump and pro-Kennedy video?
Cute. On the mark, but not likely to have any good impact because it makes fun of people for their beliefs and that never goes over well. It'll only resonate with those dealing with the extreme Trump haters by making them feel superior.
Clever, but another example of polarization promotion.
Yes! I used the next part of the Eisenhower speech in the Epilogue of my book, "Dance with the Devil: Love in the Age of Covid."
“The prospect of domination of the nation's scholars by Federal employment, project allocations, and the power of money is ever present and is gravely to be regarded. Yet, in holding scientific research and discovery in respect, as we should, we must also be alert to the equal and opposite danger that public policy could itself become the captive of a scientific-technological elite.” - Pres. Dwight D. Eisenhower (Farewell Address, 1961)
A perfect summation of the situation and your sentiments are my own exactly! Thank you, Maggie! :)

Well, maybe this follow-up one released this morning will come across as less polarizing and more to the point to you: https://x.com/collinrugg/status/1829977474853454223
