Substack serves as my blog for issues related to narcissism in personal relationships and in socio-cultural venues. To date, substack management has been maintaining a neutral position supportive of freedom of speech which in my opinion makes it a superior platform for exploring demanding and difficult topics.
Background
Between November 2020 and January 2021, I wrote Dance with the Devil: Love in the Age of Covid about an intimate relationship with a narcissist and the complex post traumatic stress disorder (C-PTSD) that ensued. Just as I was finishing up the book, the January 6th attack on the Capitol occurred. Right on the heels of that event, we began hearing more and more alarming details about vax-injuries and deaths amid the relentless drumbeat demanding compliance with the sanctioned magic-potion narrative. I consequently spent several months writing an epilogue about cultural and medical narcissism that uses the same techniques of control as those used by narcissists in personal relationships. I ultimately culled that epilogue to just a few paragraphs as I was veering in a significantly different direction. Substack provides me a venue to explore the culture of narcissism and the harm it is causing in real time.
Dance with the Devil was published in February 2022 and can be purchased through your local bookstore or on Amazon. In addition to including a novel and analysis, it includes a pragmatic section on how to heal from psychological abuse.
